Night Birds
Nightjars and Woodcock were good last night, also Woodlark & Dartford Warbler present. On the way back, flushed a Quail from the middle of the lane just by a field that used to be really good for them; there was no sign this morning though.

A bit of an odd Gull went past Selsey Bill, called by JA. A Mediterranean Gull with a mix of plumage ages probably...?

Duke of Burgundy, Dingy Skipper
The sun was in/out at Kithurst on Friday but there still c.3 Duke of Burgundy out and a Dingy Skipper was flushed from a bramble; no Green Hairstreaks for me though they have been seen there subsequently. As the sponsor of Green Hairstreak for the forthcoming Butterflies of Sussex book I feel I should at least see one this year so probably up to Chantry Hill at the end of the week!
Today it was gloomy again but one DOB was out whilst the birding highlight was a magnificent Corn Bunting singing near the dung mixon near the car park.
