"Sussex" Butterflies

Went over to Ditchling Common today for the Black Hairstreaks and personally found it pretty grim; I don't now how the butterflies got here but the whole thing just didn't feel right to me...release, re-found introduction maybe...I don't know... :-(

Nevertheless, I do hope people enjoy their presence.

After that I went to Park Corner Heath to check out what is definitely a release, Sussex Small Pearl-bordered Fritillary; found a nice male that pushed off before pics could be taken and a worn female. Plenty of Small Heath, Meadow Brown & one or two Common Blue as well.

So two butterfly species in Sussex...now where are those Knepp White Storks....
